Kathmandu, Feb 28 : Thirteen years after she acted in her last film of note, "Tirchhi Topiwale", Monica Bedi, better known as the companion of jailed mafia don Abu Salem, has begun a new innings in Nepal, acting in a new film that could be the mirror image of her own aspirations.

City girls in their desi avatars are captivating more and more public interest in the Imagine TV's reality show 'Desi Girl' but not all of them are finding it simple to do acts as after bold Sambhavna Seth, it's the turn of her best friend Monu (Monica Bedi) to get eliminated from celebrity reality show.

Sambhavna who was backing her friend Bedi tried her best to save the latter from being evicted voluntarily going out the show, but Bedi could not save herself.

Mumbai, Dec 4 :The Bombay High Court Friday permitted Bollywood actress Monica Bedi to access her two savings accounts, frozen since 2002 when she was arrest along with mafia don Abu Salem in Lisbon Sep 2002 and deported from Portugal in Nov 2005.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had frozen the two accounts - at HDFC Bank's Versova branch, at Andheri - on the grounds as they wanted to investigate whether or not they contained the ill-gotten wealth of her alleged boyfriend, Abu Salem.

A division bench of the court had, two weeks ago, asked the CBI to file an affidavit as to why it had not de-frozen the accounts.

Mumbai, Nov 25 - Actress Monica Bedi says she "was a married Portuguese woman with three children" in her past life - something she claims to have discovered through a TV show. Incidentally, Portugal was the country she was extradited from in 2005 along with her former companion, the jailed mobster Abu Salem.

Referring to the reality show "Raaz - Pichhle Janam Ka", Monica told IANS: "When I underwent past life regression therapy here, I found out that I was a Portuguese girl in my last birth.

Decide on de-freezing the five bank accounts of actress Monica Bedi by December 3, the Bombay High Court on Thursday directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Bedi, extradited gangster Abu Salem’s former girlfriend, moved the high court last month contending that HDFC Bank was not allowing her to operate the accounts even after the Bhopal court had vacated its order to freeze her accounts.

The Bhopal court, which acquitted the 34-year-old actress for possessing forged passports in June 2007, had ordered for her bank accounts to be frozen in 2002 to secure her presence in the case registered by the CBI.

She showed her last Jhalak on the dance reality show ‘Jhalak dikhlaja’ and now she is looking forward to another. “I cannot reveal the genre of the reality show as we are bound by a strict contract”, she refuses to divulge anything about the show.

Her religious album will be releasing in coming week. “It is a punjabi album in which I have recited many prayers of guru granth” she briefs.

As the strong drama going on in Bigg Boss’ house mounts, the latest evictee from Bigg Boss 2 house is none other than the bubbly Monica Bedi.

This was the final eviction of this season of ‘Bigg Boss’. Other member in the dumping zone was ‘Zulfi Sayed.’

After Monica was evicted the first time from the reality show, she got to re-enter the house as a wild card entrant.

And this time also, luck didn’t favored Monica.

It was a move that didn’t go down well with other housemates, except Rahul Mahajan.

It seems that Monica Bedi’s behavior in the house of Bigg Boss is making imprisoned don Abu Salem unhappy. He has sent second legal notice to Bedi.

The notice states: "You (Bedi) are a married woman and if you want to marry some other man, you will first have to obtain divorce from Salem."

Abu Salem mentioned in the notice that he is "anguished by her liasions with another man" in the reality show. 

Salem said that he is stressed with Bedi's comments on the show that she would like to get married and settle down with the right guy. 

Abu Salem, who is convicted for the 1993 Bombay blasts and several other cases has sent a legal notice to actress Monica Bedi. The underworld don seems to be heart broken as the love of his life gave some statements which he disapproved off

In the notice Salem claimed that he loved Monica immensely and was “deeply hurt and distressed” by certain remarks she made that they never got married to each other. He added that, “Dignified silence in this private matter would have been most appropriate.” According to him they tied the knot in 2000 at a Los Angeles mosque. 

The Bigg Boss-2 season is in news again, but not because of any controversy, in fact due to an interview, which Monica Bedi, one of the in-habitants of the house, gave to a local daily, few days before she entered the house of Bigg Boss.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has allowed the former girlfriend of underworld don Abu Salem and Bollywood actress, Monica Bedi to restart her film career.

A Bench of Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justice R V Raveendran pronounced that Monica can travel and take part in her acting assignments in any part of country. She needs to inform the police about her film assignments before leaving her native village Chabbewal in Hoshiar Pur district of Punjab.  

Apex court granted her permission after she submitted that bail condition restraining her from leaving Hoshiarpur was acting as impediment to her film career.  

New Delhi, Nov 2 : The Supreme Court will hear today former Bollywood actress and companion of underworld don Abu Salem, Monica Bedi's plea seeking permission to restart her film career.

A bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan will hear the petition.

Bedi, who was acquitted in a passport forgery case in Bhopal, was granted bail in a similar case pending in Hyderabad by the apex court. The court had asked Bedi not leave to her permanent residence at Chabbowal village in Punjab's Hoshairpur District without prior permission.

Her counsel, senior advocate K T S Tulsi, said Bedi has been flooded with offers from various film producers, but this would entail travelling to Delhi and Hyderabad frequently.
