Ace Bollywood actress-director Nandita Das has stolen all the limelight with her simple lecture at the International Film Festival (IFFI) at Goa.
Shinning bright after the triumph of her debut directorial venture 'Firaaq', an elated Nandita said, "A movie has to reflect the culture of the land."
'Firaaq' deals with the impact of aggression on human mind and kinships.
The movie has received acclaim and awards in national as well as international film festivals.
Nandita slams 'Firaaq' producers for not marketing film

Panaji, Nov 25 : Noted actress and director of "Firaaq", Nandita Das Wednesday lashed out at her producers, Percept picture company, for not "properly marketing" the film.
"Firaaq was not released properly. There was no marketing. There were some rumours that the film was released before elections and no one was sure who would come to power in Gurajat or at the centre. So I don't know, but the film really suffered because of this," Nandita told reporters at the 40th edition of the International Film Festival of India here.

New Delhi, Nov 4 : Lamenting that they could not find even 12 good children's films made in India to make up an Indian section in the children's film festival, actor and now the chairperson of the Children's Film Society (CFSI) Nandita Das said that not many filmmakers are interested in making movies for children.

Bhubaneswar, Sep 30 : Actress Nandita Das, the newly appointed chairperson of the Children's Film Society of India (CFSI), promises to bring maximum number of kids to the children film festival, starting Nov 14, despite the fact that kids are hooked to reality shows.
"My top priority at this moment is to attract large number of children from different regions and classes to the children's film festival," Nandita Das told reporters here while speaking on the sidelines of the programme "Joy of Giving".
The six-day Golden Elephant International Children's Film Festival of India will be held in Hyderabad.

New Delhi, July 31 : Film actress-cum-director Nandita Das has been appointed as Chairperson of the Children''s Films Society of India (CFSI).
Her appointment will be for a period of three years or until further orders whichever is earlier.
The position of CFSI chairperson had fallen vacant when incumbent Nafisa Ali resigned to contest the Lok Sabha polls from Lucknow on a Samajwadi Party ticket. (ANI)
Gujarat Multiplexes Not To Showcase Nandita’s ‘Firaaq’

Actor-director Nandita Das' directorial debut ‘Firaaq’, which is scheduled for release in India on March 20, will not be screened in Gujarat's multiplexes.
Gujarat-based multiplex owners association said that their dispute with the distributor over profit sharing was the main reason for not showcasing the movie in the state.
Manubhai Patel, President, All Gujarat Multiplex Association, said, “It’s not clear yet. We have not finalised profit sharing with the distributor. We have to figure out the percentage.”

At the 7th Kara Film Festival in Karachi, two Indian movies including Nandita Das’s directorial debut ‘Firaaq’ and a documentary Superman of Malegaon have won the Ciepie awards.
Bollywood, which has been an important part of ‘KaraFilm Festival’ each year since its beginning, did not attend this year’s celebrations because of Mumbai attacks. But, Nandita Das, who is famous in Pakistan for her character in ‘Ramchand Pakistani’, along with ace film maker Mahesh Bhatt, attended the festival.

Islamabad, February 15 : Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Nandita Das graced the second-last day of the KaraFilm Festival in Karachi, Pakistan.
The two of them are known to be the "oldest supporters" of the Kara festival.
Pakistani newspaper the News says in one of its reports that Das and Bhatt were welcome signs, and a massive statement of commitment from the neighbours across the border.
