Netaji died in Taihoku air crash: Italian Envoy

Netaji Subhash Chandra BoseKolkata, Jan 23, : Italian Ambassador in India, Alessandro Quaroni said on Firday that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose died in 1945, in an air crash at Taihoku and therefore there is no point in undertaking further research.

Addressing the media at Subhash Chandra Bose''s ancestral house on his 113th anniversary, Quaroni said, "I personally do not see the point of research because unfortunately, the person, Netaji died, but his message lived on and still remains."

Netaji Subhash Chandra BoseAgartala, Jan. 23 : The 113 th birth anniversary of revolutionary leader Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was celebrated in Agartala today with residents paying tribute to the martyrs of the November 2008 Mumbai terror attack.

The main programme was organized by the students of Netaji Subhash Vidya Niketan School.

Debadutta Mazumder, a participant, said: "We are saluting the martyrs of Mumbai attack who have sacrificed their life to save us. Today on the birth day celebration of a great hero we are also paying tribute to other heroes."

Government approves expansion of Kolkata Airport

Netaji Subhash Chandra BoseNew Delhi, Aug 14 : The Government today gave its approval to the modernization or expansion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (NSCBI) International Airport, Kolkata at an estimated cost of Rs. 1942.51 crores.

The work, which is expected to be completed within 30 months of award, will result in an additional passengers handling capacity of 20 Million Passengers Per Annum
(MPPA).
