Rohit Sharma has said in a press meet that Adam Gilchrist and Mahendra Singh Dhoni have very similar attitude towards the game. Both of them are devastating players and have many similarities as captains. Moreover, he has thanked and credited the former Australian wicket keeper and Skipper of Deccan Chargers for his success.
Rohit Sharma called in to cover Laxman

Batsman Rohit Sharma has been included as a cover for VVS Laxman for the first Test against South Africa scheduled to begin on February 6 in Nagpur.
It is uncertain whether V. V. S. Laxman will be able to play the match, as he suffered an injury on his left hand during the first Test against Bangladesh at Chittagong in January.
Laxman appeared for the training secession and practiced batting however his name did not appear for the catching practice secession indicating that the injury has not healed completely. Rohit also took part in the training secession.
Rohit called in as cover for injured Laxman

The Indian selectors have summoned Rohit Sharma as a cover for the middle order batsman VVS Laxman for the first test match against South Africa starting from 6th February as Laxman has not yet fully recovered from the injury.
Laxman had received finger injury during the second test match against Bangladesh in Chittagong while fielding in the slips. Laxman had missed the fielding practice session and the batting session yesterday.

Mohali (Punjab), Dec 11 : India fast bowler Shanthakumaran Sreesanth and middle-order batsman Rohit Sharma were Friday ruled out of the second Twenty20 International against Sri Lanka to be held here Saturday.
Sreesanth, who missed the first Twenty20 in Nagpur, is still down with stomach infection while Sharma, who sustained a shoulder injury in Nagpur, is still not fit. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been called as a back up.

Rohit Sharma has been named as best under 3 player of IPL-2 for his excellent all-round performance in the whole tournament.
Rohit has been awarded a cash prize of 10 lakh Indian Rupees.
Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri and MAK Pataudi were the member of the committee which has selected Rohit as best player under 23.
The right handed batsmen, has scored 333 runs at a good average of 27.25 and at blistering strike rate of 119 runs per 100 balls.
Besides his excellent batting performance, he has taken 11 wickets at an average of 11.45 including one brilliant hat-trick against Deccan Chargers.

Dashing middle-order batsman, Rohit Sharma scored an unbeaten century as Mumbai recuperated from a wretched start to reach a respectable 297 for six at close on an eagerly competitive opening day of the Ranji Trophy cricket final against Uttar Pradesh.
Sharma led the fight back with a risky unbeaten 113 and the 207 runs he shared with Abhishek Nayar (99) aided Mumbai survive Bhuvneshwar Kumar's five-wicket haul.
