London, Aug 22: Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar could have already been out if England had appealed for a stumping late on day four of the Oval Test.

Tendulkar had scored 34 in India's second innings when England failed to appeal for a stumping on Sunday.

England off-spinner Graeme Swann, meanwhile, joked that he wasn't aware of the stumping at the time.

"It's not exactly the brains trust who field around the stumps! I'm surprised Matt Prior didn't appeal though because he appeals for everything," the Sun quoted Swann, as saying.

Colombo, Aug 6: Australian batsman Ricky Ponting believes that claims of batsmen fading in their mid-to-late 30s are overrated, and said that 38-year-old Indian batsmen Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid are inspirations for every cricketer.

The cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar has unveiled portrait of former BCCI president Raj Singh Dungarpur, popularly known as Rajbhai, at the Cricket Club of India (CCI) clubhouse in Mumbai on Wednesday.

On this occasion, Sachin said that he is very pleased to unveil portrait of Rajbhai as he was associated with him from a long time since 1989 when he drafted him in the Indian squad for the Pakistan tour.

Sachin further said that Rajbhai had supported him from the school days and he played a major role in sending him to an oversea tour of England in 1986.
