London, Nov 2 : Footie star Theo Walcott has gifted a 140,000-pound Ferrari to his girlfriend Melanie Slade on her 21st birthday.

The 20-year-old Arsenal ace has asked the California model to replace the white VW Beetle he bought her three years ago.

"Melanie is over the moon. She loves the car and has even got a personalised number plate for it,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

"She was scared of driving it at first, but she took it for a spin in London to get rid of her nerves,” the source added.

London, Sep 12 : England footballer Theo Walcott, who was a surprise inclusion in Sven-Goran Eriksson''s preliminary England squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, has quashed all the criticism for his selection at a young age of 17.

Fellow English footballer Steven Gerrard had said in his autobiography that Walcott had “no right” to go to Germany in 2006. Sir Alex Ferguson recently had said that he "still could not understand” the decision taken by Eriksson, and Wigan chairman Dave Whelan had called Walcott “basically the ballboy”.

Slade, who is a big fan of the range, says the clothes are perfect for all kinds of weather.

London - England winger Theo Walcott has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal, the English Premier League club confirmed on Friday.

Details of the contract were not released, but the 20-year-old's new deal was hailed by manager Arsene Wenger.

"Theo is an intelligent player and has developed well this season," Wenger said.

London, Nov. 19 : A freak injury to England footballer Theo Walcott could keep him out for three months.

According to The Sun, winger Walcott dislocated his right shoulder at the end of the England training session in Berlin last night.

The 19-year-old was challenged by Scott Parker and went down on the wet pitch. He was rushed to hospital in the German capital where his shoulder was put back in place.

Walcott, who has just returned from injuring the same shoulder against Stoke, would have started tonight’s friendly for England against Germany but instead was due to fly home to have his injury assessed for immediate surgery.
