Yao's foot injury could threaten career

Washington - Yao Ming's foot injury continued to make waves Tuesday after the Houston Rocket's team physician said it could threaten his next season or even his career.
Referring to the hairline fracture that has not responded to treatment, a New York Times sportswriter said there was an "anatomy lesson" here: "Being 7-foot-6 is not good for your feet. And when you're Yao Ming and a broken left foot threatens your career, the pain quickly spreads through an entire franchise, the Houston Rockets, causes aches through the NBA and sends cramps to China."
Jackie Chan, Yao Ming appointed ambassadors for Shanghai Expo

Shanghai, May 1 : Hong Kong film star Jackie Chan and NBA star Yao Ming have been appointed promotion ambassadors for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo on Thursday.
"I will spare no efforts to pay close attention to the Expo and help promote it throughout the world," said Jackie Chan.
Yao Ming was quoted by the website as saying that as a native of Shanghai, he has always hoped that he could contribute to the event.
Clinton and Yao Ming to receive honorary degree for HIV/AIDS work
Submitted by Sahil Nagpal on Thu, 11/20/2008 - 05:41.Hong Kong - Former US president Bill Clinton will next month receive an honorary degree for his work in the HIV/AIDS field from the University of Hong Kong.
The university said Thursday the ceremony will take place on December 4 when Clinton will be conferred an honorary Doctor of Law for his work in the field which includes helping 1.4 million sufferers access life-saving drugs through his Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative.
Also present will be Taiwan-born AIDS researcher Dr David Ho who will receive an honorary Doctor of Science in recognition of his contribution to medicine and work in helping the cause in China.
