Karachi, Jan. 28 : After taking over the command from Shoaib Malik , new Pakistan cricket captain Younis Khan has asked the members of the national squad to show consistency in their performance.
Khan urged the team members to give their hundred percent on the field and show their real capability.
"Consistency is what this team needs urgently," The News quoted him, as saying.
Lahore, Jan 27 : Pakistan's middle order batsman Younis Khan has accepted the captaincy during his meeting with Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ijaz Butt.
According to sources, Younis Khan called on Butt and accepted the offer of captaincy during the meeting.
Shoaib Malik was constantly facing severe criticism after Pakistan's humiliating defeat in one-day series against Sri Lanka.
Karachi, Jan 27 : Pakistan batsman Younis Khan has emerged as the front-runner to replace Shoaib Malik as skipper ahead of the two-Test series against Sri Lanka after they were thrashed badly by the Lankans in the just concluded ODI series.
Shoaib Malik's is in the line of fire after being retained as Pakistan captain in December 2008, for an `indefinite' period, after his team's performance hit rock bottom against Sri Lanka on home soil, The News reported.
Lahore, Jan. 6 : Pakistan's top middle order batsman, Younis Khan, has urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to provide better sporting facilities at the domestic arena to uplift the standards of the sport in the country.
Khan said that the PCB should provide better facilities to participating teams in domestic cricket.
"The PCB needs to ensure that the pitches are sporting enough for both batsmen and bowlers and not one-sided," the Nation quoted Khan, as saying.
Lahore, Nov 19: Pakistan batsman Younis Khan has said that Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was continuously succeeding in all forms of cricket because presently lady luck was smiling on him, and that his real mettle would be tested once luck runs out for him.
Dhoni’s success as Indian captain was a “combination of some skill and loads of good fortune”, he said.
