Congress not interested in development: Gujarat CMBanaskantha (Gujarat), Apr 20: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that the Congress was not interested in development of the country.

“The Congress is not interested in development issues. They just want to remain in power for which they indulge in vote bank politics,” Modi said while addressing an election rally here.

Modi further said that he has a magic medicine to solve all problems of the people of the State.

Sushma Swaraj says NDA will win majorityBhopal, Apr 20: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj on Monday said that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would cross the magic figure of 272 in the general elections.

“Not only would the NDA get a majority on its own, the BJP would also emerge as the single largest party,” Swaraj said at a press conference here.

When asked to specify the number of seats that the BJP was likely to win, Swaraj said that her party would win anything between 180 to
200 seats on its own.

Addressing a press conference here, Advani said the US has realized that even Al-Qaeda Chief Obama Bin Laden could have his secret funds in Swiss banks for terrorist activities.

“After 9/11 terror attacks, the United States has realized that not just the buccaneers in business but even Obama Bin Laden could also hide his funds in secret havens and use them to bomb the world,” Advani slips tongue calling Osama Obama Bin Laden.

SC orders the release of Varun Gandhi on parole; BJP welcomes decision

Varun GandhiThe Supreme Court has ordered the release of BJP candidate Varun Gandhi, the grandson of ex-India PM Indira Gandhi, on parole for two weeks. He was arrested under the National Security Act (NSA) for his communally-offensive comments against Muslims at the March 6 and March 8 rallies in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh.

Though the coverage of Varun Gandhi's inflammatory speeches were extensively broadcast on Indian television, he said that the recordings were "doctored." However, the Election Commission was convinced that coverage had "not been tampered with, doctored or morphed."
