Pregnant woman dies of swine flu in country’s national capital
Country's national capital, New Delhi has recorded its 9th human swine flu-related death.
A pregnant woman died of deadly virus in New Delhi on Tuesday.
It is learnt that a 20-year-old pregnant woman named Anita Devi, admitted to Safdarjung hospital on September 18 died on Tuesday morning.
She was a resident of Badarpur area of New Delhi.
Giving details regarding Anita's death, Kiran Walia, Delhi Health Minister, said: "She was five months pregnant and she tested positive for swine flu on 20 September. She died due to respiratory failure today. With this the toll in the city has risen to nine."
Walia also informed the media persons that swab samples of 2065 people have been tested positive for the H1N1 virus till Tuesday.
She also added that Tamiflu drug will be available at retail outlets of authorized chemists in New Delhi.
Over 1,018 children have been treated for swine flu in the city.
The minister asked the residents of New Delhi not to panic and that the situation is under control.
