Pregnant women Okayed for Coffee consumption

Pregnant-women-CoffeePregnant women need not have to worry about their morning cuppa coffee.

A study done by The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has stated that modest amount of caffeine consumption might not increase the rise of miscarriage or premature birth.

The recent studies have reported about the findings and effect of the moderate caffeine consumption on pregnancy complications but it was soon reviewed by the College committee who in turn has posted evidence for the same.

Dr. William Barth, the chair of the College committee said, "I think it's time to comfortably say that it's OK to have a cup of coffee during pregnancy," reports Reuters Health.

The report laid by the College's Committee on Obstetric Practice revealed that 200 milligrams of caffeine a day close to 12-ounce cup of coffee does not contribute to miscarriages or premature births.

Also experts in unison explained that "moderate caffeine consumption" means consumption of four to eight-ounce cups of tea or more than five 12-ounce cans of soda a day, or in other words eating six or seven dark chocolate bars.
