Protesters in Bangladesh demand Suu Kyi's release Dhaka - More than 200 people gathered in Bangladesh's southern Cox's Bazar sea beach Friday asking the Myanmar junta to release pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi, who is facing trial for her alleged breach of the terms of her detention.

"Peace and democracy in Myanmar are impossible with the pro- democratic leader behind bars. We want Suu Kyi to be freed immediately," Mra Razalinn, the chairperson of Rakhaine Women's Union.

The union and the Women's League of Burma jointly organized the rally on the 64th birthday of the Nobel laureate Myanmar leader who is detained now in Insein prison of Yangon.
