Radico Khaitan sees 20-fold increase in profit

Radico-KhaitanRadico Khaitan announced on Monday that it has seen a 20-fold increase in its profit for the quarter ending March 31, 2010. This is as compared to the same period during the last year.

In money terms, the net profit of the liquor making company stood at Rs. 9.59 crore post taxes. This profit has been calculated post-tax.

The Delhi-based company had seen a net profit of Rs. 43 lakh during the fourth quarter of 2008-09. This was reported by the company in its official statement.

During the fourth quarter of 2009-10, the total income of Radico rose from Rs. 238.17 crore to become Rs 297.72 crore.

For the whole year, it saw a profit of Rs. 41.54 crore. This is six times higher that what the company has seen during the previous fiscal year that ended at Rs. 6.53 crore.

Total income of the company increased from Rs 932.66 crore in the previous fiscal to become Rs. 1,147.08 crore. This means a 23 per cent increase over the last year.

Radico also said on Monday that it is "in talks" with Britan's Diageo Plc for reducing its stake in the JV company formed by them.
