Ranbaxy Laboratories has received an order from the Government of India for supplying capsules of Oseltamivir. The drug is the generic equivalent of Tamiflu - Roche's innovator product, which is prescribed to treat influenza - A H1N1 (swine flu).

However, the company did not provide any information about the size of the order and its delivery schedule. Yesterday, Bangalore-based Strides Arcolab has received similar order from the Government of India for supplying 7.4 lakh capsules of Oseltamivir.

The scrip of the pharmaceutical company is presently trading at Rs 324 on BSE, up 1.5% compared to its previous close. (14:20 PM)
