Ratan Tata identifies a roadmap for Tata Global Beverages LtdTata Group chairman Ratan Tata has identified a strategic and long-term roadmap for Tata Global Beverages Ltd, the beverages company's Managing Director & CEO Harish Bhat said on Friday.

Mr. Bhat said that Tata Global Beverages Ltd would introduce innovative products, mainly in the health & wellness segments, as a part of the newly identified roadmap.

However, Mr. Bhat didn't reveal the details of the roadmap. Speaking on the sidelines the company's 49th annual general meeting (AGM) in Kolkata, he said, "There is a roadmap which has been identified and Ratan Tata has contributed to it. It is a strategic and long-term roadmap. So it will be difficult for us to divulge the details."

Addressing shareholders during the AGM, Ratan Tata praised the company saying it has covered a long distance from being a plantations company to a globally acclaimed branded beverages company. He added that the company was growing further by bringing coffee and water under its fold.

When asked about the abandoned Nano car factory at Singur, outgoing Chairman of the group, Ratan Tata, said there was still a possibility of setting up a Tata Motors factory in West Bengal, but added that that it could be done only when in an environment of friendliness at the political level.

Ratan Tata, head of salt-to-software conglomerate, will retire from the top position in December when he turns seventy-five. Tata Group has more than 100 operating companies, worth nearly $83.3 billion, under its fold.
