Mani Ratnam's much-awaited Tamil flick Ravanaan, starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Vikram will hit US screens on June 18.
Big Pictures will release the film's Tamil and Telugu versions in more than 40 screens across 30 cities in the US comprising the self-owned BIG Cinemas' theatres.
In the Hindi version Raavan, Abhishek Bachchan is playing the lead role opposite Ash.
In the Telugu version, the film is named Villain, with Vikram and Prithviraj Sukumaran playing the lead characters with Aishwarya.
The film makers are claiming Raavanan to be one of the top releases of South Indian movies in the US. The producers are targeting the vast regional market in the US.
Anil Arjun, Reliance MediaWorks CEO, said "We are committed to bring quality films of regional languages to the audiences waiting in different parts of the world."
Ratnam's banner 'Madras Talkies' has co-produced Raavanan and Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman has scored the music for the film.
The movie is a blend of drama, action, love and music and has been shot in the jungles of Kerala, Jhansi, Kolkata, Ooty and in Maharashtra at Mahabaleshwar and in the Malshej Ghats. (With Inputs from Agencies)
