Rural Electrification Corporation has registered net profit of Rs 388.04 crore, up 65.03 per cent for Q4 ended on March 31as compared to Rs 235.10 crore in the corresponding quarter previous year.

Total profit of the company rose to Rs 1272.08 crore in Q4 ended on March 31 as compared to Rs 1273.52 crore in same quarter last year.

Total income of the company also grew to Rs 4931.28 crore from Rs 3537.66 crore in the last year.

The company has announced a dividend of Rs 2.50 a piece (on face value of Rs 10 each) and total dividend for FY'09 is Rs 4.50 per share (on face value of Rs 10 each).

Rural Electrification Corporation shares were trading at Rs 149, up 7.50 per cent on the BSE.
