Recent Apple patent reveals wearable accessory device with flexible touch-screen display An AppleInsider report on Thursday revealed that tech giant Apple has filed a patent application pertaining to a wearable accessory device; most likely the company's much-rumored `iWatch' smartwatch.

Adding to the rumors making rounds about Apple's `iWatch' device, AppleInsider has mentioned in its report that the patent filed by Apple reveals a product that boasts a full-length flexible touchscreen display; and can conncet to a portable device - through Bluetooth or Wi-Fi- for displaying information in real time. Furthermore, the product also conforms to the users' body via the use of a "slap bracelet" mechanism.

First to report the Apple patent filing, AppleInsider elaborated that the patent application essentially describes a flexible display which can be added to a conventionally designed slap bracelet. The device will feature a bi-stable spring made out of thin steel, encased in a fabric covering, and heat sealed.

In addition, the patent filing also mentions that Apple's wearable accessory device will also feature a battery, logic board, and a few other components that would be mounted to one end, and covered when the device will be worn.

Noting that "accessories for portable computing devices have become quite common," the filing said: "Today typical portable electronic device accessories are passive in nature, the majority of which simply function to protect the screen, or perhaps support the device in some specific orientation."
