Two children killed by ISAF troops in Afghanistan Kabul - NATO-led soldiers opened fire on a vehicle that failed to maintain a safe distance from a security patrol, killing two children and wounding one adult, the NATO-led military said Monday.

A press release issued from (International Security Assistance Force) ISAF headquarters said that the incident happened on Sunday at approximately 7:30 pm in Kandahar province.

"As soon as we begin to set up troops we fall on our nose," the Supreme Allied Commander for Europe told Financial Times Germany.

"My deputy writes letters, I call, he calls and I write," Craddock said. "I am frustrated about it."

Canada to send more troops to Afghanistan

AfghanistanKabul- Canada is to send more troops to Afghanistan in order to support fight against corruption, drug trafficking, good governance and reconstruct process, visiting Canadian Foreign Minister David Emerson said Saturday.

Speaking in a joint press conference with Afghan Foreign Minister Rangin Dadfar Spanta in Kabul, the Canadian minister however did not set a timetable for the sending of troops to Afghanistan but said, "Canada was asking other partners to increase their troops commitment. Canada has had 2,500 troops here in Afghanistan and that number could expand to 2,700."

40 Taliban, British soldier killed in southern Afghanistan

AfgahnistanKabul- Dozens of Taliban fighters were killed in a US airstrike in east-central Afghanistan while a British soldier died in a clash with Taliban fighters in the south, officials said Friday.

As many as 40 Taliban fighters were killed in the airstrike in Ghazni province, about 130 kilometres west of Kabul, local officials said.

US planes bombed a group of Taliban who were meeting at a Taliban gathering place near the district centre of Ajristan late Thursday, a spokesman for Ghazni Governor Ismail Jahangir said.
