New Delhi, Apr. 12 : The Chinese Foreign Ministry has charged the European Parliament with interfering in the country’s internal affairs by passing a resolution on Tibet.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu said on Friday night that the resolution, adopted after secessionists-instigated violent unrests ravaged Lhasa and other ethnic Tibetan areas last month, had hurt the sentiments of the people of China.
The resolution has urged European Union leaders to boycott the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics unless the Chinese government resumes talks with the Dalai Lama.
