Manchester, Sep 1 - India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said lack of partnerships cost the team a six-wicket defeat against England in the one-off Twenty20 international at the Old Trafford here Wednesday.
"Partnership is key, doesn't matter what format it is. Once you lose quick wickets, like we did after 12 overs, it doesn't help. You want to have at least five or six wickets in the slog overs," said Dhoni.
India can certainly bounce back in ODIs: Broad

Manchester, Sep 1 - England Twenty20 captain Stuart Broad expects India to bounce back in the five-match ODI series starting Saturday.
Broad led England to a six-wicket win in the one-off Twenty20 international at Old Trafford Wednesday night.
"They've got some world-class talent in their team. They are the 50-over world champions so we know the danger they present," he said.
"We are certainly not going to take any game lightly."

Manchester, Sep 1 - A win eluded India once again as they lost the lone Twenty20 international against England by six wickets at the Old Trafford here Wednesday.
Sterling displays from Eoin Morgan (49) and Jade Dernbach (4/22) helped England scamper home to a six-wicket win in a tense Twenty20.
Opting to bat first on a sluggish track, India made a competitive 165 all out in 19.4 over after valuable contributions by debutants Ajinkya Rahane (61) and Rahul Dravid (31).

A very well compiled unbeaten century from the Irish player Eoin Morgan has propelled England to register a four-wicket victory over the Aussies in the first one-day international of the Natwest Series at Rose Bowl. Australia opted to bat first and managed to score 267-7 with a nice contribution from Michael Clarke of 87 from 97 balls. Except him no other batsman in the Australian team has clicked.
England coach distances himself from team’s debacle

Coach Fabio Capello, distancing himself from England's debacle in South Africa, is insisting that he cannot be blamed for the team's dismal performance and feels that his last two years with the Three Lions has been a waste.
Capello said, "It does feel like the last two years have been a waste of time. I don't know why or how the players have arrived at this point. The training is very good so I can't understand the way during the game that they don't transfer their training form on to the pitch - they can't seem to change speed.
English wicket keeper Kieswetter keeps his spot in England one-day team

The selection team of England have shown confidence on the young wicket keeper Craig Kieswetter and kept him in the squad for the upcoming ODI series. This squad has been selected for the Natwest Series against Australia and one-off match against Scotland. This wicket keeper-batsman is a talented young cricketer.
He is a very explosive player and was one of the stars in the successful T-20 World cup campaign for England. He has been selected for previous wicket keeper Matt Prior. Alistair Cook has been also left out the squad as Ian Bell has been recalled.

The England football squad has departed for South Africa to take part in the World Cup. The nation's hopes and dreams are with this team. The team has not able to hold the cup for last 44 years.
Many fans believe that the after a long wait, 2010 could be their year. England has USA, Algeria and Slovenia in the pool.
Next Friday the grand event will start when the home team South Africa will play against Mexico in Johannesburg. This is going to be the opening game of the tournament on 11th June.

It has been declared in the awards evening hosted by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Swann has claimed this award beating his team mates Stuart Broad, Andrew Strauss, Paul Collingwood and James Anderson.

England has defeated Bangladesh by nine wickets in the second and last test to win the two test matches series 2-0 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday.
Bangladesh today resumed their inning from overnight score of 176 runs for loss of six wickets and bundled out with 285 runs on the board in the second inning. Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan scored 86 runs as they set target of 209 runs for the English team.
J Tredwell took four wickets for England while S Broad and G Swann picked up two wickets each.

Already on a roll, the Spanish team has settled its old score with England as the Spanish beat England by 2-0 in an interesting encounter. A ban has been slapped by England boss Fabio Capello on players' wives and girlfriends setting up a base near their World Cup training camp.
According to the Sun reports, the hard line coach declared glitzy Sun City, which WAGS decided to make their base during the World Cup, strictly off limits. This place is 14 miles from Rustenberg, where the team will train. Hotels in the resort city had already been taking bookings from them.

Pak-England to play T20 series in UAE

Lahore, Dec. 25 : Pakistan and England are likely to play each other in two T20 internationals in Dubai.
The matches would be held at the Dubai Sport City Stadium just ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup.
“Discussions are progressing between both cricket boards and the series of two twenty20 international matches to be scheduled after Pakistan’s Australia tour,” a website quoted UAE cricket authorities, as saying.
Pakistan would wrap up its Oz tour on February 5, while the English team is currently in South Africa.
