Faizabad (Uttar Pradesh), Aug. 26 : Flood victims in Uttar Pradesh’s Faizabad district are complaining that the local administration has not taken note of their pitiable condition.
These affected people are villagers and most of them have lost almost most of their belongings.
Four deaths have so far been reported here, as Saryu and Gaghra rivers in Faizabad district continue to flow above the danger mark here.

Supplementary Nutrition Programme benefits women in Faizabad
Submitted by Mohit Joshi on Fri, 05/08/2009 - 13:01.Faizabad, May 8: Union Government's Supplementary Nutrition Programme has greatly benefited women and children in Faizabad by curbing malnutrition among the poor families.
Government started the scheme with focus on improving the health and nutritional status of infants aged till six years, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
Under this programme, infants below six years of age are given cooked meals at the school while women in advanced stage of pregnancy are given weekly dry nutrient preparations.
The aim is to supplement the daily nutritional intake by 300 calories, 8 to 10 grams of protein for children, 500 calories and 20-25 grams of protein for women under the ante-natal and post-natal care.
Welfare schemes for rural women and children launched in Uttar Pradesh
Submitted by Sahil Nagpal on Mon, 03/02/2009 - 09:02.Faizabad (UP), Mar 2: The Central Government has opened various Anganwadis (women volunteers) in Uttar Pradesh''s Faizabad district for the welfare of rural women and children.
In one of the Anganwadis at Patupur village of Faizabad district, small children come for their pre-school education. The volunteers bring these children to this centre.
Seema Devi, the Child Development Project Officer of the village, visits the centre every month to monitor whether the women, pregnant women and the small children are getting their daily nutrition and education or not.

The arrested militant was purportedly involved in several terror acts including the serial blasts at Faizabad and Varanasi.

The arrested militant was purportedly involved in several terror acts including the serial blasts at Faizabad and Varanasi.
Abdul Qayoom Manhas, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Jammu-Kathua range said, “HuJI militant outfit chief and accused in Faizabad and Varanasi blasts has been arrested by SOG, when he was doing a recce of an area near Jammu Railway station on Sunday evening.”
The DIG further told that the arrested HuJI chief has been recognized as Muzaffer Ahmed Illahi Daanger alias Suhail Faisal, son of Ghulam Ahmed of Chingam in district Kishtwar.
Flood-hit UP villagers migrating due to administrative apathy

Faizabad (Uttar Pradesh), Oct. 8 : Land erosion caused by the recent floods in Uttar Pradesh and administrative apathy have compelled several residents of Mudadiha Village in Faizabad District to abandon their homes and land.
The glairing administrative apathy in the wake of floods has left the villagers fearful about their future.
According to the villagers, the officials are not bothered with their repeated pleas for help.
Floods continue to hit normal life in Faizabad
Submitted by Sahil Nagpal on Fri, 08/22/2008 - 06:35.Faizabad, Aug 22: Life in Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh remains affected due to unabated floods caused by monsoon rains.
Many rivers of the region are flowing above the danger mark, creating a near exodus situation as people are forced to take shelter in the higher reaches.
"River is in spate. All the nearby areas are flooded. We are facing a lot of problems," said Keshav Ram, a flood victim.
The authorities have provided relief material to hundreds of families.
"Each of the families have been given 10 kilograms of rice, 12 kilograms of animal fodder and two liters of Kerosene oil. We have provided relief material for a total of 239 families," said Suresh Kumar, a land ceiling official.
