Tehran - Four Iranian convicts were executed on Monday in Zahedan, the capital of the south-eastern Sistan-Baluchistan province, official news agency IRNA reported.
One of the four was part of the gang that kidnapped a Belgian couple in August 2007 in Sistan-Baluchistan. The gang had demanded the release from prison of the brother of its leader, Ismael Shahbakhsh, in exchange for the Belgians.
The Iranian authorities rejected the demand and arrested one of the kidnappers.
Tehran - Tehran on Saturday reacted with surprise over Morocco's decision to cut ties with Iran, ISNA news agency reported.
"This is indeed an odd and questionable move. But it is Morocco's decision, and we will in due time reply to that within a statement," Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki told a news briefing.

US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Thursday that it was expected that Iran would be invited to a conference on Afghanistan scheduled for this month in a European capital.
The Iranian spokesman said that if the United States and the West needed Iran and conveyed an invitation, then Tehran would consider it for the sake of helping its neighbour.

Tehran general prosecutor Saaid Mortzavi said that "a list with more than 100 Zionist (Israeli) criminals involved in the massacre of the Palestinian people has been prepared and would gradually be sent to Interpol."
Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami said during Friday prayers that the only appropriate sentence for the Israeli war criminals should be execution.
