Selling car above the actual price is unfair trade practice- says NCDRC

The Commission comprises of Justice Justice K S Gupta and Justice R K Batta. The authorized car dealers have received an order from the state forum to pay Rs 30,000 to a person for selling the vehicle above the price mentioned in the bill.
The commission has said that there is no other way to hide the actual price of the car to be sold. The petitioner had misrepresented that ex-showroom price of the vehicles and charging Rs. 30,000 extra on the billing price.
Six labourers killed as bridge collapses in Kota
Submitted by Sarthak Gupta on Fri, 12/25/2009 - 15:44.Kota, Dec 25 : At least six labourers were killed and over 50 feared trapped after an under-construction bridge on the Chambal river collapsed in Kota last night.
After an overnight halt, the rescue operations have resumed at the site. The Army has arrived and is helping out with clearing out the debris.
The construction task of the 50-metre long bridge had been entrusted to a Korean company.
The reason for the collapse is yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, State Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced an exgratia t of two lakh rupees each for the next of kin of those killed and one lakh for the injured.
Four killed, six injured as bridge collapses in Rajasthan

Kota (Rajasthan), Dec 24 : Four people were killed and six injured as an under construction bridge on the Kota-Udaipur by-pass road on the Chambal River collapsed in Rajasthan, an official said Thursday.
The district administration said that at least 50 others are feared trapped in the debris.
"We have till now been able to recover four bodies. Chances of more dead under the debris are high," a district administration official told IANS.
24-year-old girl dies of swine flu in Kota

According to the reports, Rajasthan has recorded one more human swine flu-related death on Friday.
This time, a twenty-four-year-old girl has succumbed to the fatal H1N1 virus in Kota.
While confirming the news, the health functionaries stated that swine flu threat is increasing among school kids in Rajasthan.
The reports of the victim, which came today morning, confirmed the presence of H1N1 virus in her blood samples.
In the meantime, swine flu is spreading among pupils with 8 out of the 12 new cases recorded in the desert state today including them.
Residents blame mobile tower for health hazards in Kota

Kota/New Delhi, May 1: Rising mercury has made life difficult for residents in Rajasthan and New Delhi.
With maximum temperature hovering around 45.4 degrees Celsius, Kota city is the second highest heat affected region in Rajasthan. Temperature at Churu has recorded highest at 46.2 degrees Celsius.
Soaring temperature has made life miserable for residents who now prefer to stay indoors.
‘India will achieve 35 percent electricity generation from N-power by 2050’

Kota, Oct 14 : Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Anil Kakodkar has said that India will achieve 35 percent electricity generation from nuclear power plants by 2050 after the signing of the Indo-US Civil Nuclear Deal.
The nuclear deal has opened the doors of opportunity for India to set up nuclear power plants to meet its energy requirements, Kakodkar told reporters here.
Approval has been accorded for construction of seventh and eighth units at the nuclear power plant facility in Rajasthan, he said.
Rescue operations begin as 250 pilgrims trapped in Rajasthan cave temple
Submitted by Sahil Nagpal on Mon, 08/11/2008 - 13:34.Kota (Rajasthan), Aug 11 : Rescue operations resumed this morning at the Geparnath temple in Kota District of Rajasthan, where at least 250 people have been stranded after the stairs leading to the Mahadeva temple collapsed leaving one pilgrim dead on Sunday.
The incident took place on Sunday afternoon when the staircase caved in. Nearly 70 devotees were inside the temple when the ladder collapsed due to heavy rush of pilgrims.
The Army has been requisitioned to assist the district administration in rescue operations. Helicopters have also been kept ready in case of any emergency.
Darkness hampered the rescue operation and temporary lights were installed to carry out the exercise, official sources said.
