Lahore, Apr. 7 : The Pakistan Supreme Court has returned the trial petition moved against former President General (retired) Pervez Musharraf with several objections.
Supreme Court Registrar Dr Faqir Hussain returned the petition with four major objections.
Lahore, Apr 6 : Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt has rubbished speculation that the one-day international series against Australia in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) could be postponed or cancelled owing to lack of arrangements.
Ijaz insisted that the matches would go ahead as scheduled later this month, the Daily Times reported.
Lahore, Apr 6: Tehreek-I-Taliban Pakistan chief Baitullah Mehsud has been able to escape several attempts to kill and capture him because he has friends in the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency.
An “increasingly-emboldened” Mehsud has claimed credit for the several attacks in Pakistan and also for threatening to attack the US.
“Soon we will launch an attack in Washington that will amaze everyone in the world,” he said last week.
Lahore, Apr. 5 : At least 35 persons were reportedly killed and over 150 others injured in a suicide attack on an Imambargah in Chakwal area of Pakistan’s Punjab province on Sunday.
The blast took place in a huge public gathering where over a thousand persons had assembled for an annual prayer, Majlis Aza.
The injured persons have been admitted to the District Headquarter Hospital. Releif and rescue work were going on in full swing till the news last filtered-in.
