Manchester, Sep 1 - India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said lack of partnerships cost the team a six-wicket defeat against England in the one-off Twenty20 international at the Old Trafford here Wednesday.
"Partnership is key, doesn't matter what format it is. Once you lose quick wickets, like we did after 12 overs, it doesn't help. You want to have at least five or six wickets in the slog overs," said Dhoni.
India can certainly bounce back in ODIs: Broad

Manchester, Sep 1 - England Twenty20 captain Stuart Broad expects India to bounce back in the five-match ODI series starting Saturday.
Broad led England to a six-wicket win in the one-off Twenty20 international at Old Trafford Wednesday night.
"They've got some world-class talent in their team. They are the 50-over world champions so we know the danger they present," he said.
"We are certainly not going to take any game lightly."

Manchester, Sep 1 : England captain Stuart Broad on Wednesday hailed his team's effort in their thrilling six wicket victory over India in a T-20 match here.
India slumped from 104-1 to 165 all out at Old Trafford, with the impressive Jade Dernbach taking four wickets for 22 runs.
"We probably didn''t start as well as we like to do in the first 10 overs, we got slightly wrong and we need to exceed that. But the way we clawed back was testimony to the character of the side," said Broad.

Manchester, Sep 1 - A win eluded India once again as they lost the lone Twenty20 international against England by six wickets at the Old Trafford here Wednesday.
Sterling displays from Eoin Morgan (49) and Jade Dernbach (4/22) helped England scamper home to a six-wicket win in a tense Twenty20.
Opting to bat first on a sluggish track, India made a competitive 165 all out in 19.4 over after valuable contributions by debutants Ajinkya Rahane (61) and Rahul Dravid (31).

They have developed a blood test which is much more accurate than current testing methods, and have cited that peanut allergies have probably been overestimated.
The team also hopes to work to further diversify the peanut test so the severity of the allergic reaction whether, it is mild or catastrophic, can be known, thereby enabling parents to seek the appropriate advice.
The test detects antibodies to the peanut protein RH2 and reveals 95 per cent accuracy in diagnosing peanut allergy, revealed the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

Angolan rebels attacked a bus carrying the Togo national football team as it travelled for the Africa Cup of Nations football tournament on Friday. The driver was killed and two players were among nine injured in the ambushed by rebels on their way from their Congo training ground to their African Nations Cup base in host country Angola.
Amir Khan becomes new world light-welterweight boxing champion

After taking the WBA light-welterweight title at the MEN arena in Manchester, Khan said: “It’s the best feeling ever.”
He won just 10 months after suffering a devastating knockout defeat by unknown Colombian Breidis Prescott.
The 22-year-old from Bolton won the fight with a slick unanimous points victory. Khan’s victory completes an impressive turnaround after his world title dreams appeared to be shattered less than a year ago, SKY News reported.
Manchester United edge out Arsenal in semi-final first leg

Manchester - Manchester United will take a narrow advantage into the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Arsenal after edging out the London side 1-0 at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
The holders dominated the match for long periods but in the end only had an early header from John O'Shea to show for their superiority.
The two sides will play the second leg at the Emirates Stadium next Tuesday.

Hospital seeks dead man's consent

Sally Guidon said she wrote to North Manchester General Hospital officials after the death of her father, James Johnson, 76, listing a series of complaints and asking for hospital staff to investigate the death, The Daily Mail reported Thursday.
However, Guidon said hospital bosses responded with a letter saying they needed Johnson to give written approval before his file could be opened.
Title still up for grabs as Man United held at Middlesbrough

Two goals from Afonso Alves helped overturn Cristiano Ronaldo's early strike for United but Wayne Rooney levelled for the visitors with 15 minutes to go.
United remain on top, but they are now just three points clear of Chelsea, with Arsenal not out of it, another three points behind in third. Middlesbrough have 35 points, nine clear of the relegation zone.
When Ronaldo, unmarked, side-footed Michael Carrick's cross for the opening goal on 10 minutes it looked like United would cruise to victory.
