Johannesburg - A report on prostitution in South Africa's tourist capital of Cape Town released Thursday recommending lifting a ban on sex work.
The report by the Pretoria-based Institute for Security Studies, entitled Selling Sex in Cape Town surveyed 164 sex workers out of around 1,200 in the city.
"While sex workers are often subject to exploitative or abusive working conditions, very few (in Cape Town) are forced to sell sex," the report, which was carried out in conjunction with the Cape-Town- based Sex Worker Education and Advocacy Taskforce, found.
Maputo- All citizens of the southern African country of Mozambique should have access to electricity within seven years, the head of the national electricity utility Electricidade de Mocambique (EDM) said Tuesday.
EDM chief executive Manuel Cuambe said the utility hoped to finish linking all the country's 128 districts to the national grid by 2015 but that the success of the project would depend on the availability of financing.

The line-up for the August 23 gig is a mainly South African affair and features mostly local musicians who did not make the shortlist for the Mandela charity concert in London's Hyde Park in June that kickstarted his birthday celebrations.
Wolfsburg, Germany - Volkswagen is to build the right-hand- drive version of its new Golf model at its main German plant in Wolfsburg, shifting production from its plant at Uitenhage on South Africa's southern coast, the company announced Saturday.
VW South Africa head David Powells told the newspaper Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung the RHD version of the Golf VI, aimed at the Asia- Pacific and African markets, would be available in October.
Johannesburg - South Africa's sole nuclear power plant, already producing only partial output, was in a state of complete shutdown Saturday after a further fault was detected.
Both units of the Koeberg nuclear power station in the Cape Peninsula were out of commission, SABC news reported.
Unit one was shut down following a detection of a suspected fault in the cooling system, after unit two had been shut down Monday as a result of a technical fault.
The two units normally produce a total of 1,800 megawatts for South Africa's already extremely strained electricity supply which sees regular blackouts.
Maputo - The government of the southern African country of Mozambique is considering proposals for legislation that would make access to food a basic right, a local newspaper reported.
Mozambique's Noticias newspaper reported this week that the state food and nutrition security technical secretariat (SETSAN) had forwarded a declaration to the cabinet of President Armando Guebuza that calls for such a legal instrument.
The declaration was drawn up at a recent symposium on food security and nutrition in Maputo.
