Tehran - The heads of the Iranian Atomic Organization and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will meet in Vienna to discuss the outcome of the nuclear talks last week between Iran and the world powers in Geneva, ISNA news agency reported Wednesday.
Gholam-Reza Aqazadeh and Mohamed ElBaradei will meet on Thursday and discuss bilateral cooperation and how to proceed following the Geneva talks, Iran's Atomic Energy Organization deputy Mohammad Saeidi told ISNA.
Tehran - Iran Wednesday said the arrest of Serbian war crimes suspect Radovan Karadzic was an "historic moment" for the people of Bosnia Herzegovina and world Muslims, ISNA news agency reported.
"The arrest of this war criminal whose hands are stained with the blood of thousands of innocent people is an historic moment for the people of Bosnia Herzegovina and other world countries, especially the Muslims, who had waited for this moment for twelve years," Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Ghashghavi said.
Tehran - The deputy to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Saturday that Iran was a friend of Israelis, Iranian news agencies reported.
"Iran wants no war with any country, and today Iran is friend of the United States and even Israel. ... Our achievements belong to the whole world and should be used for expanding love and peace," said Iranian Vice-President Esfandiar Rahim-Mashaei, who is also head of the Cultural Heritage Organization.
Tehran - Iran on Friday said it was hoping for constructive nuclear talks in Geneva but reiterated again that it would make no concessions with regards to suspension of uranium enrichment, ISNA news agency reported.
"If we enter the talks with a constructive approach and avoid previous mistakes then we could definitely hold suitable negotiations," chief nuclear negotiator Saeid Jalili said before leaving for Geneva for Saturday's talks.
Jalili is to meet with European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana and representatives from the five veto powers plus Germany (5+1).
For the first time also, the United States will attend the talks after Washington decided to dispatch Undersecretary of State William Burns to Geneva.
Tehran - Iran welcomed Thursday the release of Lebanese prisoners freed by Israel Wednesday as part of a prisoner swap deal with the Hezbollah guerrilla group, the Khaber news network has reported.
"The happy news of the release of Lebanese prisoners by the Zionist regime (Israel) was part of the achievements of the Islamic resistance of the Hezbollah group and dear nation of Lebanon," Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said in a press statement.
"This is the result of long and courageous resistance by Lebanon and regional states and we congratulate this great victory," he added.
Tehran - Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei joined the chorus against making concessions at nuclear talks with the major powers over the weekend.
