Kuwait - Leaders of Arab countries agreed at a summit in Kuwait on Tuesday to rebuild the war-torn Gaza Strip and called for a reconciliation of Palestinian factions.
The summit also demanded that Israel withdraw immediately from the strip and said Israel should be held responsible for any war crimes.
Rebuilding infrastructure that has been destroyed in Gaza would be the first priority of Arab governments, said Arab League chief, Amr Moussa in a press conference.
Abu Dhabi - Deputy Prime Minister and the Chairman of the United Arab Emirates Red Crescent Authority pledged Thursday to reconstruct the United Nation schools in Gaza bombed by Israel.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed al-Nahayyan said that reconstruction includes the school run by the UN's agency for Palestinian refugees (UNWRA), the al-Fakhoura school in the Jabaliya refugee camp, north of Gaza City.
The school was shelled by Israel last Tuesday leaving at least 46 Palestinian civilians dead and 150 injured, mostly children.

Nicosia, Jan 3 -- The World Bank''s report Doing Business in the Arab World 2009 says the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the easiest country to do business in the Middle East. The report ranked UAE in the 14th place globally in its assessment of 181 countries.
"Economies that have efficient customs, good transport networks and fewer document requirements, making compliance with export and import procedures faster and cheaper, are more competitive globally," the report said.
Berlin - Germany and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ended a long struggle over the corporate tax arrangements between the two nations with the finance ministry in Berlin announcing Tuesday that they had reached an agreement on a new double taxation treaty.
The agreement has implications not only for German companies operating in the oil-rich Gulf state, but in particular it concerns the tax treatment of UAE investors in Germany, notably the role of state-backed sovereign wealth funds in companies in Europe's biggest economy.
Washington, 15th Dec. 2008 -- The Governments of the United Arab Emirates and the United States have completed negotiations on the proposed text for a bilateral cooperation agreement on the peaceful use of nuclear energy, a UAE Foreign Ministry source said.
This '123 Agreement' would allow for the transfer of nuclear-related components and materials between the two countries.
