‘Top of the Pops’ to return to BBC as public serviceLondon, Nov 15 : British music chart television programme ‘Top of the Pops’ is expected to return to BBC next year following claims that there are not enough popular music on television.

The decision is likely to come in the wake of heavy lobbying from artists, managers and record companies.

Music executives are increasingly confident that the BBC is ready to bring back a show that was last broadcast on BBC Two in July 2006.

Although to win back the viewers it will need to change, with songs being featured before they are released.

George Takei and pals will be munching crocodile testicles in the jungle!

Producers on the show say that the bush-tucker trial grub is their most revolting yet, and it could be served to the former Star Trek star and Dani Behr, Carly Zucker and Nicole McLean.

In the past series, kangaroo balls had been served in furry pouches, but a show source says that they are now going all out.

The grandma’s wake attended by all of her 172 grandchildren!

London, November 15 : The funeral of a distant relative of ‘X-Factor’ star Shayne Ward was attended by all of her 172 grandchildren recently.

Margaret Ward, who died at the age of 87, was said to have been devoted to her large Irish Roman Catholic family, and gave each member a gift at Christmas.

Some of Margaret’s grandchildren united for the first time ever at her wake, and all 172 grandchildren released a balloon.

Margaret’s 12 surviving children were also present at St Sebastian''s RC Church in Salford, Greater Manchester, for the service.

Her daughter Anne Hudson revealed that her mother never forgot a birthday.

Gay actor wants to be Daniel Craig’s successor as James Bond

John BarrowmanLondon, November 15 : Gay actor John Barrowman, 41, has expressed his desire to become Daniel Craig’s successor as James Bond.

The Torchwood star has even revealed that he had auditioned for the suave spy’s role before Pierce Brosnan, but the producers told him that he looked too young to play the character.

“They really liked me but said to come back in 20 years,” the Sun quoted him as saying.

“Maybe in a few years time... who knows?” he added.

When asked during a radio programme whether he would like to portray 007, Barrowman said: “Bring it on baby.”

German troops in Afghanistan consuming a million litres of beer a year

Four al-Qaeda-linked militants killed in AfghanistanLondon, Nov. 15 : Being a soldier in Afghanistan is clearly thirsty work. According to military sources, around a million litres of beer was shipped to German troops stationed in Afghanistan last year.

The troops, according to a German Defence Ministry report, also received about 70,000 litres of wine and sekt, a German sparkling wine.

The admission has shocked a country that has never had much time for the Afghan mission, reports The Guardian.
