Reliance Communication pays its due for 3G spectrum
While the other players including the big ones like Bharti Airtel are finding it difficult to pay the amount promised by them during the 3G auctioning, one company has stood apart. Anil Ambani's Reliance Communications (RCom) has paid all the $1.9 billion dues for the 3G spectrum.
The money was paid to the government on Monday. RCom is one of the three private companies that won spectrum in 13 circles. This also includes the Mumbai and Delhi circles, which are considered to be the most lucrative ones.
The company said in a statement, "RCom's nationwide 3G-ready network offers a number of innovations to its over 102 million customers. RCom won 3G spectrum in all circles where it has 900 MHz spectrum. The 13 circles where it has obtained 3G spectrum include all high growth 'C' circles for less than Rs. 500 crore."
It is said by the analysts that RCom is going to benefit the most from these spectrums. It is so because the company is most likely to use its already existing GSM network and there by will manage to reduce its capex to minimum.
