RIM launches BlackBerry Bold 9900 white in IndiaCanadian firm, Research In Motion (RIM) has announced the launch of BlackBerry Bold 9900 smartphone in pure white in the Indian market.

The handset, which is the thinnest and the first device to include support for NFC (Near Field Communications), is now available across the country through authorized retailers. The new NFC technology will allow the users to make mobile payments, pair with NFC-enabled accessories and accesss smartphone tags.

"The BlackBerry Bold 9900 is the thinnest BlackBerry smartphone yet at only 10.5mm, and the first to offer the perfect union of a high performance keyboard and touch display integrated within the iconic BlackBerry Bold design," the company said in a press release.

The smartphone comes with a 5MP camera onboard capable of 720p HD video recording, 3G/Wi-Fi/GPS/Bluetooth/microUSB/NFC connectivity, an optical trackpad, a document editor and 8GB of built-in storage space.

The new Pure White BlackBerry Bold 9900 is built with premium materials including a brushed stainless steel frame. The device will be powered by the company’s latest BlackBerry 7 operating system.

The company has claimed that the browser in the device is 40 per cent faster than BlackBerry 6 based smartphones. The browser includes optimized zooming and panning as well as impressive HTML5 performance allowing easy gaming and video experience.

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 is priced at about Rs. 33,360 in India.
