Ryanair refuses to reimburse passengers

RyanAirAs if the flight disruption was not enough to create the chaos, Europe is now seeing a new battle between flight operators and the EU.

While the ban on flights due to the cloud from the Icelandic volcano has left thousand s of holidaymakers struggling, responding to the ongoing war for the passenger compensation, Chief Executive of Rryanair Michael O'Leary has opposed payment of any compensation by his airlines.

He has said that the company would challenge the EU law asking flight operators to compensate the passengers for their hotel and food bills due to the cancelled flights.

As per him, why airlines, which charge a fare of €30, should reimburse the thousands of Euros spent by the passengers on hotel accommodations. No legislation asks such a thing.

Spokesman of Ryanair said they are ready to refund the full fare inclusive of taxes and charges to the passengers.

However, Air transport Users Council (AUC) said that as per European regulation 261/2004 the airlines are required to offer meals, refreshments and hotel accommodation incase a passenger has to wait for rearranged flight.
