Bollywood chocolate boy Shahid Kapoor turned 29 today.

The actor was given a surprise birthday bash by his family members and friends.

On micro-blogging site Twitter, Shahid posted, "I was given a surprise birthday party and I sure was surprised. Even dad and family were in on it. Wow! It's actually my first surprise birthday party."

Number of celebs, comprising Karan Johar and Farah Ali Khan, wished Shahid Kapoor on his birth anniversary.

Pankaj's loving son said, "Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the birthday wishes. Love you all."

The actor's friend and co-star of his last film "Chance Pe Dance", Genelia D'Souza, also attended the bash.

Shahid, who started his Bollywood career as a background performer in Subhash Ghai's 'Taal', would desire to make it big in this year and focus on his career.

After four years, Shahid made his debut as a lead actor in Ishq Vishk (2003) and bagged a Filmfare Best Male Debut Award for his recital.
