Site at Navi Mumbai inspected

T C BenjaminToday a squad from the Ministry of Environment and Forests' expert appraisal committee (EAC) examined the location of the projected international airport at Navi Mumbai. Deliberations with the CIDCO and state will pursue during the next two days.

According to T C Benjamin, principal secretary of the state urban development department, the associates went all-around and inspected the site along with the adjacent areas.

The squad exhausted two hours at the location, travelling in an eight-car demonstration, going to the important location and investigating maps. Government officials and CIDCO demonstrated those maps and projected a variety of alternatives to alleviate the influence on the environment.

The squad investigated the 400-acre land of mangroves that might have to be detached, a 92-m hill that might have to be destroying and the rivers Gadhi and Ulwe that beneath the opening offer were to be abstracted. As per Naresh Dayal, head of the EAC, they have come to judge the site. There will be deliberations on the next two days with CIDCO officials.
