Six week extension to Lavasa Corporation
Lavasa Corporation has been granted six weeks extension by the Bombay High Court on Thursday.
Lavasa Corporation has to submit documents sought by the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) by March 10.
In November, Lavasa had to halt its construction progress due to delays in receiving approval on environmental clearance from MoEF, against which Lavas has decide to move towards the court.
The environment ministry filed a petition in the court stating that Lavasa has started its construction without taking prior environmental clearances from the ministry and even violated some rules as well.
The ministry even told that they are ready to take the project on merit basis provided with imposition of certain terms and conditions. Lavasa's proposed project 25,000-acre hill station township near Pune district, around 200 km from Mumbai.
