After impressing the audience with her brilliant acting skills in Sallu-starrer Dabangg, Sonakshi Sinha has become a hot property in Bollywood.

Now, Farah Khan's husband Shirish Kunder has roped in the cute-faced actress for his ambitious 3D directorial project 'Joker'.

Sonakshi will be seen opposite the real khiladi of the Hindi film industry, Akshay Kumar.

While answering a question, why he chose Sonakshi as the leading lady for the flick, Shirish said, "Sonakshi fitted the role perfectly. Hers is an extremely performance oriented character which is there throughout the film with Akshay. Besides another reason for choosing Sonakshi is the fact that she and Akki would be a fresh on-screen pair considering Akshay has worked with most of the top leading ladies."

He also stated that the movie will hit screens by the first month of the coming year (2011) and will be shot in India.

On the other hand, Sonakshi is really eager about her forthcoming film in which she would be seen playing the character of a modernistic girl.

Speaking about his 'Joker', Kunder wrote on Twitter, "It's is a human drama. It's a tale of a bunch of underdogs fighting for victory. There will be humour, some sci-fi and it will be made in 3D."

Joker, a co-production between Farah & Shirish's Three's Company and Akki's Hari Om Entertainment, will be Kunder's second directorial project.

In the year 2006, Kunder directed the film Jaan-e-man, which starred Akshay, Sallu and Preity Zinta.

Shirish has also produced 'Tees Maar Khan', which is ready to hit screen on December 24. (IANS)
