Success Kid helps Raise Funds for Father's Kidney Transplant

A kid has raised more than $75,000 to help his father get a kidney transplant. The kid is highly recognized on the internet. The so-called Success Kid made plea with his family last week to provide funding for his father Justin, 39, to get a kidney transplant.

In 2007, an image of Sam Griner went viral, showing him clutching a fistful of sand after smashing a sandcastle on the beach. The Go Fund Me page mentioned help pleas made by the Florida-based Griner family to help them reach their goal. The plea is intended to help Justin get the pre-treatments and transplant he needs to survive.

Sam said his mother succumbed to the same condition and his father should not face the same fate. He urged for help to enable them write a different story Justin and his son.

The family has raised tens of thousands of dollars in less than a week. Medicare will pay for 80% of Justin's post-surgery needs, but Griner family is still required to pay thousands of dollars from their pocket. This was the reason the family decided to set up a GoFundMe account using Sammy's 'Success Kid' image to raise funds for Justin. They have managed to raise more than $80,000 in six days.

In the image, Sam could be seen as a baby, clenching his fist and making a menacing face on a beach in Jacksonville.
