Stockholm  - Fans of Swedish Crown Princess Victoria turned out Tuesday to see her at the side of her fiance Daniel Westling as she celebrated her 32nd birthday.

The couple appeared along with King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia outside the Solliden Palace on the island of Oland off Sweden's east coast, where the royals usually spend part of their summer holidays.

Westling has dated the princess for seven years, but in earlier years was not seen at such events. The engagement announcement earlier this year apparently removed the obstacles.

There had been question marks over whether Westling would be able to attend the ceremony since he underwent a kidney transplant at the end of May. He was reported to be recovering well.(dpa)
