Tata Group appoints Rediffusion to manage Public Relations

Tata Group appoints Rediffusion to manage Public RelationsThe Tata Group has appointed Rediffusion, which his led by Arun Nanda, to manage its public relations and public affairs from November 1, 2011, according to a statement from the group.

The group’s public relations and public affairs were managed by corporate lobbyist Niira Radia, who is known for having an easy access to the powerful elite in the capital. She counted Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries and leading real estate firm Unitech as her major clients besides the Tata group. Niira Radia has now decided to wind up the business that operates in the name of Vaishnavi Communications for PR.

According to some reports citing sources, the group has not renewed its contract with Vaishnavi Communications for PR activities. The corporate major houses of Tata and Reliance were looking to end their relationship with Vaishnavi after the expose of the Niira Radia tapes. Experts believe that as she has been exposed in the media, she would not enjoy the same level of reach and access to the powerful people in the country.

Radia in her statement on Sunday said, "To give precedence to my personal priorities of family and health, I have decided against renewing any client mandates and to exit the business of communications consultancy."

A Reliance Industries spokesperson expressed regret that she did not choose to renew her contract with the company and offered praise for her work.
