Tata Power net jumps three-fold to Rs 572.65 crore in Q1Tata Power Company, India's largest private sector power utility, on Friday announced that the company's consolidated net profit climbed up by nearly three times to Rs 572.65 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal.

The company declared in a filing to BSE that total income grew to Rs 4,713.26 crore for the first quarter of the current fiscal from Rs 4,069.34 crore in the same quarter previous year.

Tata Power has an installed power generation capacity of upwards of 2785 MW with the Mumbai operations having a unique mix of thermal and hydro power, with the thermal power station at Trombay and the hydro electric power stations at Bhira, Bhivpuri and Khopoli reporting for 1797 MW.

The company's various generation capability alleviates production of low cost energy delivering the consumer greater value for money.

Tata Power has generation capacities in Delhi, Mumbai, Jharkhand, Jojobera and Karnataka.

Shares of Tata Power Company, on Friday closed at Rs 1,338.60, down 1.36% or Rs 18.45. Total volume of shares traded was 220,125.
