With the aim to go green, both LG and Samsung will next week launch prototype of cell phones that would be recharged by solar panels built into the case.
Consumer appliances giant Samsung India has announced that it will invest USD 20 million in its Chennai and Noida facilities this year to strengthen business operations.
The company has sketched an investment worth USD 20 million for these facilities with more focus on machinery. The company intends to export televisions and front loading washing machines to the SAARC countries from its Chennai unit.
It may be noted that Samsung last year invested USD 200 million as part of global expansion plans.
Samsung’s INNOV8i8510M is all geared up to hit the North American market through AT&T as it has passed the FCC test.
A 2.8-inch LCD with 320×240 resolution, 320×240 video at 120fps, 640×480 video at 30fps and the ability to automatic geo-tag images with their location are some of the exclusive features of Samsung i8510. Other than this, it even has Bluetooth 2.0 support, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and onboard memory of 8GB or 16GB with expandable microSD card support and also supports AT&T’s 3G data network.
Digital technology major Samsung has made entry into the portable personal computer (PC) segment with the launching of an array of notebooks and a sleek netbook.
The company rolled out notebook PCs in various categories including Premium, Thin and Light X Series, Mobile Optimum — Q Series and the mainstream R Series.
The newly launched notebooks are priced between Rs 34,000 and Rs 115,014, while the Samsung NC10 netbook is priced at Rs 28,000.
