Ten injured in Iberia aircraft after Amazon turbulence

Ten injured in Iberia aircraft after Amazon turbulence Lima - Ten passengers in an Airbus aircraft operated by Spain's Iberia airlines were injured Thursday during a flight from Madrid to Lima as it hit turbulence above the Amazon rain forest.

Peruvian police said the aircraft had landed safely in Lima after the incident sent panic among the passengers.

The injuries, which were not described as serious, included bruises.

Iberia flight 6641 was about 800 kilometres from its destination when it hit turbulence over the city of Pucallpa. (dpa)
