Thailand's Online Apple Store starts taking pre-orders for iPad Mini
A recent AppleInsider report, citing the information shared by several readers, has revealed that pre-orders for Apple's newly-unveiled smaller tablet - the iPad Mini - have now gone live in Thailand.
According to the report, pre-orders for the iPad Mini have been opened on the Online Apple Store in Thailand, which incidentally is not one of the 34 countries officially participating in the launch of Apple's 7.9-inch tablet.
The information provided by the AppleInsider readers has been substantiated; with a quick check with Thailand's Online Apple Store having confirmed that the iPad Mini is actually up for sale in the country. The tablet was unveiled by Apple at an October press event; and it features a 7.9-inch display, A5 processor and stereo speakers.
The date of shipping of the iPad Mini tablet has been mentioned as two weeks on Thailand's Online Apple Store; thereby indicating that Apple will likely release the tablet in more countries within the next fortnight or so.
However, despite the iPad Mini pre-orders going live on Thailand's Online Apple Store, it is noteworthy to point out that the pre-orders are still "Pending for agency approval," apparently by the National Telecommunications Commission, which is the telecom regulations agency in Thailand.
