There is no reason why I can't do well in ODI’s: Mishra

Amit MishraPromising leg-spinner from Haryana, Amit Mishra is keen to drop his 'Test specialist' image and is aiming for a regular place in the Indian One-day team.

The leggie, who is among the 30 probables picked for the ICC Champions Trophy, is confident about his odds in making the final team.

Speaking to a TV channel, Mishra said: "I want to remove the tag of Test specialist. For the last two seasons, I have performed well in the shortest format of the game, which is more challenging then the ODI."

The prolific spinner is in great form this season. He emerged as the second highest wicket-taker in the recently concluded Emerging Players Trophy in Australia. Mishra was also one of the big successes for Delhi Daredevils in the IPL Season 2. The bowler got a hat-trick against Deccan Chargers in the inaugural edition of the IPL in 2008.

Commenting over his batting skills, the 26 year old spinner said: "I have worked on my batting and I think I can be very handy in 50 over games as well."

Mishra also added that he has learnt a lot from the likes of Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh and even Shane Warne after his constant interactions with them.
