T-Mobile USA to Expand Services, DT Looking for American Partner

Recent reports have confirmed that T-Mobile USA is now looking to expand its services in the country from the current wireless network coverage to more, and for the same the firm's parent company Deutsche Telekom is seeking American partners to help with the funding for a major build-out that has been planned. Clearwire, MetroPCS or Leap are currently being looked at as potential partners.

Experts have, however, been quick to say that none of the partners have the funds required for such a major project, and T-Mobile should try getting AT&T involved. The company, on the other hand, has not overlooked the alternative and is also reportedly ready to partner with a financial investor, which would give the partner a minority stake in T-Mobile USA.

Currently, DT is one of the smaller American wireless network service providers with only 12% share of the vast market. This year, the company has spent as much as $3 Billion to expand its data services network, and for the coming year has kept aside another billion or two for the same purpose.

By taking an American partner, DT is not only looking to share the funds, but also involve a local party which has better understanding of the market.
