Toshiba JSW plant set to commence by fiscal 2011 endToshiba JSW is searching options to start stage-I operations of its super-critical power equipment manufacturing facility located at Ennore, near Chennai, by the end of fiscal 2011.

The sources informed that the facility will create turbines of 3,000 Mw capacity.

Sources added that the project is likely to cover 100 acres of land at Ennore, near Chennai. The Toshiba-JSW (of OP Jindal group) joint venture is envisaging to make supercritical power boilers at the facility.

In November previous year, the joint venture partners had inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government in order to establish a manufacturing plant.

As per official sources, the plant will also give employment to about 500 persons by fiscal 2014.
