UK to announce new plans for cutting carbon emissions
UK’s government is set to announce new plans to drastically cut carbon emissions across the country.
The deal, which is set to raise concerns among manufactures, is being welcomes by the environmentalists. Prime Minister David Cameron appears serious on the issue and will bring forward a radical "carbon budget".
The environmentalists doubted Cameron’s resolve to keep his promise that his administration will be "the greenest government ever". He appears to be ready to deliver on the promise with the new deal that comes after much deliberation and debating.
Cameron is expected to commit the UK to two decades of drastic carbon emissions reductions and also make them legally binding. The move could propel the country into the front line of carbon emissions reductions efforts around the world.
There are some reports about Cabinet with Chancellor George Osborne and Business Secretary Vince Cable being concerned over the cost of committing the country to such a deal. The new approach to reduce UK’s reliance on fossil fuels will result in radical changes in homes, businesses and transport.
