Dadasaheb Phalke Academy organized an award function to honor the 140th birth anniversary of the renowned film producer Dadasaheb Phalke on Monday May 4th.

The award ceremony for this year was held at Bhaidas Auditorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai.

The hall was crammed with VIPs from the Hindi film industry (Bollywood) of present day and yesteryears.

Mahesh Bhatt made his presence as chief guest.

A lot of film dignitaries were being honored during the event.

Ace actor Prithviraj Kapoor was posthumously honored with Phalke Kalpataru Award at the function. The whole Kapoor family was present to receive this honour.

Amongst others honoured at the same event were veteran genius Manoj Kumar with Phalke Ratna Award, Shammi Kapoor with Phalke Legend Actor Award, father of Anil-Boney and Sanjay Kapoor, veteran film producer Surinder Kapoor with L. V. Prasad Phalke Award and living legend singer Shamshad Begum with Phalke Golden Singer Award.

Other awardees include maverick filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar and composer Himesh Reshammiya's father Vipin Reshammiya.
