Vinati Organics Begins Production In New IB Facility
Vinati Organics Limited (VOL), the world's largest manufacturer and supplier of IBB (Isobuty Benzene), has started operations from its novel manufacturing facility of Isobutylene (IB) at its new plant at Lote in Maharashtra.
The plant has an installed capacity of 12,000 MT.
Moreover, it would have the largest manufacturing capacity for the production of IB.
Claiming that the new facility would also make VOL self -reliant in terms of the supply of one of their key materials known as ATBS, the sources said it had been the driving factor in VOL's growth in the past five years.
Incidentally, the demand for ATBS all tworldwide had been growing at the rate of 10-15 per cent per annum, while VOL's growth was pegged at around 30 per cent during the same period, the sources said adding at present VOL has an installed capacity of 10,000 MT of ATBS and during the next fiscal(2011-12) it planned to expand it to 15,000 MT.
In addition to the captive use of IB for making of ATBS, the company had decided planned to sell IB in the Indian market also. (With Inputs from Agencies)
